OUR STORY

Meet the Owners

Welcome to Vino and Sancerre, where the love story of fine wines unfolds through the eyes of owners, Matt and Natalie. Matt, whose roots trace back to his family's Italian restaurant, brings a zest for life cultivated in the kitchen, while I, Natalie, with my background in the vibrant hospitality scene, infuse a touch of sophistication into our winemaking journey.

Beyond the vineyards, Matt finds solace in the art of blending flavors, a skill honed through years of experimenting in the kitchen. His love for culinary arts extends to his fascination with rare spices, and you'll often find him concocting unique blends to complement our wine offerings. On the other hand, my passion lies in the art of storytelling and visual expression. Photography and painting are my chosen mediums, capturing the essence of our vineyard's beauty and the evolving narrative of each bottle.

EXPLORE

Our Vinyards

Vino&sancerre is a winery and Vinyard, is located on Maxey Road in the Jingle Pot area of Nanaimo. Tended to organically, our five-acre vineyard boasts some of the oldest vines planted on Vancouver Island. Planted by Harry Von Wolff in the early nineties, Chateau Wolff grows predominantly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. A sub-section vineyard located across the road contains Viognier, Siegerrebe, and Bacchus. The protection of Mount Benson, a south-facing slope, and large rock face help to contribute to our unique micro-climate.
