Our Story
The food and drink industry has been a lifelong affair for me, Matt, as I grew up in my Aunt and Uncle’s charming Italian restaurant in Trenton, Ontario. My journey commenced at the age of 13, washing dishes, and unfolded as I took on every role the restaurant had to offer: from preparing drinks at the bar to serving tables and even managing the hustle of the cooking line. Meanwhile, Natalie, my partner, carved her path in the hospitality industry in her hometown of London, Ontario.
Roots in Viticulture
Our venture into the world of winemaking sprouted when Natalie and I crossed paths at a local wine tasting event in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Fueled by a shared passion for fine wines and the art of winemaking, our connection blossomed into the foundation of Vino and Sancerre. United by our fascination with grape varieties and the rich history of winemaking, we decided to blend our diverse backgrounds in the food and drink industry, embarking on a joint adventure to craft exceptional wines.
Crafting Our Own Legacy
In 2015, Natalie and I took a leap of faith, purchasing a stunning vineyard in the heart of Prince Edward County. The rolling hills and fertile soils provided an ideal canvas for our winemaking aspirations. With a hands-on approach, we personally tended to each vine, carefully selecting varietals that flourish in the region's unique terroir. Nurturing our vines from bud break to harvest, we poured our hearts into creating wines that not only mirror the character of the land but also embody the spirit of our journey. Today, Vino and Sancerre stands as a testament to our dedication, producing wines that capture the essence of the vineyard and the shared dreams that brought Natalie and me together.

Welcome to Vino and Sancerre, where the love story of fine wines unfolds through the eyes of owners, Matt and Natalie. Matt, whose roots trace back to his family's Italian restaurant, brings a zest for life cultivated in the kitchen, while I, Natalie, with my background in the vibrant hospitality scene, infuse a touch of sophistication into our winemaking journey.
Beyond the vineyards, Matt finds solace in the art of blending flavors, a skill honed through years of experimenting in the kitchen. His love for culinary arts extends to his fascination with rare spices, and you'll often find him concocting unique blends to complement our wine offerings. On the other hand, my passion lies in the art of storytelling and visual expression. Photography and painting are my chosen mediums, capturing the essence of our vineyard's beauty and the evolving narrative of each bottle.
